CCP, please do us LogiBros a solid and knock down the prices of our support gear by 10% or so. We deserve to profit like every other merc.
I'm a full Logibro as well. The problem you face is one that many people face. You are running fits that you can't support based on your number of deaths to suit cost. Use LP gear. Do more Faction Warfare, run slightly cheaper variations on your current suits. I run Advanced fits and profit. And LP Proto suits (which cost the same as my advanced fits from a suit cost perspective.) In truth, the biggest issue I face is trying to (stupidly) run LogiBro suits solo in Pub matches. I do quite well running with an organized squad. (PVE would certainly address this issue for those times I don't want to bother coordinating a squad.) My original comment was regarding similarly tiered suits geared for their original roles - ie an Advanced Assault suit geared for front line work, an Advanced Scout suit geared for recon/flanking, etc. It seems that an Advanced Logi suit geared for healing/support costs more to configure. (However, considering LP gear is a good suggestion.) Trying to run a logibro fit in a pub match when running solo is an exercise in burning your wallet. Consider running "logi-lite" (e.g. Medic suit with the injector replaced with a repper or uplink) use the standard logi suit for pubs and militia plates etc. use the militia repper etc. you should be able to make a fit for under 5k. (I call those my "goodwill" suits... GoodWill being a local place to get secondhand/cheap clothes.)
I'm close to that but not quite THAT bad I run an advanced logi suit (for the 3 equipment slots), with basic armor, armor repair, 2 or 3 shield repair, a standard combat rifle, and basic or militia drop uplinks, nanohives, and nanite injectors. The whole fitting to replace it is like 19,000 isk vs. my main proto logi suit which runs about 139,000 k (I did a cost compairison about a week ago). (I'm stealing your "Goodwill" suit nickname, by the way. That is great). So running my Goodwill suit, even in a "bad" match, I am earning about 150,000...... So I can "afford" to die 7 times in that match and still come away with profit. I die more but it is less expensive. I'm also still getting the almighty SP which is what I care about more, anyways. I look at it as a positive to be honest. It makes me focus on tactics, situational awareness, etc. and my gun game has to be better so in a 1 on 1 I at least stand a chance. My aiming/strafing better be on point or I'm going to get taken to the woodshed. Running my main suit I get lazy and give too much weight to the suit/fittings instead of personal skill.
Because of that, I only break that out when I'm going to be running with a group of people who know what the hell they are doing. I'm not going to burn through that expensive a suit in a pub match. |
